The Snake in the Garden

By

When you're young you pray,
   "Oh just let me be in her,
that's all I want, I won't move,
   I promise not to move.";
Then God lets you be in her,
   and it's heaven, you think,
and you think, "How can I keep
   from moving?"—and you move.
You can't anyway keep from moving
   because now moving is heaven.
And as you move you think,
   "If only I could keep from moving
this might last—I might stay
   in heaven." But you move,
and she moves, and it's over.
